MyBoro Email set-up Help |
How to configure your online control panel for your MyBoro Email address
About your account
How to access the on-line Control Panel
How to set-up your email program
Testing your account
Your MyBoro E-Mail address is a real POP3 account on a mail server which stores your email until you access it. It is not just a forwarding account. You can access your mail from all standard mail programs such as Outlook, Eudora or Netscape Messenger. In addition you have access to an online control panel where you can change your password, set up mail forwarding or use the auto responder.
Your email account is limited to 15mb of space on the mail server (which should be more than sufficient), while any messages not removed when you collect them are automatically removed from the server 30 days after receipt.
You set-up the options for your e-mail account using an online control panel. You can get to the control panel by using the link: http://mail.myboro.co.uk/WebMailManager/WebMailMgr.dll , where you will see the Log-On screen below
Enter your MyBoro email address (yourname@myboro.co.uk) and your mail password and select Log-On. You will then be logged on to your mailbox, giving you full access to change the following :-
To forward mail simply put a full email address in the 'Forward Mail To:' field.
If you are forwarding email make sure you check the 'Don't store in this mailbox' checkbox (this means the email will be forwarded but not stored). To forward to more than one email address, separate the email addresses with a comma.
DO NOT forward mail to another forwarding account, or to an aliased account, it MUST be forwarded to a pop account.
Your email has available an auto responder, this means every time somebody sends you an email, the mail server automatically sends a standard email back. This can be used for confirmation that you have received an email, or to let people know you are unavailable for a period of time.
To set this up simply check 'Enable Auto Reply' and fill out your message. It is also a good idea to put any emails which also have auto responders in them that you are aware of in the 'No reply to:' field (including the email address itself). You can also choose to reply from a different email address. The 'echo message' command sends an auto responder which also includes the message that was sent to it.
Nothing needs changing here it is simply a note of your account privileges (e.g. you can the user use the POP service etc.).
Your E-mail software settings: (example for john@myboro.co.uk)
Follow the directions on your e-mail software, this should be the only information you need.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: When you enter the username into your email program you must put change the @ in your email address to a % (e.g. john%myboro.co.uk). Otherwise checking mail will NOT work.
If you're using Outlook Express click here for specific instructions and screen shots, if you are having trouble and are not using Outlook Express (e.g. using Eudora) have a look at this anyway, it should help you.
If you wish to test your account is working simply update your MyBoro details by changing your contact email to your new MyBoro email address. This will automatically trigger an email to be sent with a new password.
